Katana: a Japanese sword characterized by a curved, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands.

Coming from a musical background and being a guitarist for two years now, I've shown interest in how musical instrument companies market their own products, such as Boss, Fender, ESP, Les Paul, etc. One of my favorite product line is Boss' Katana guitar amps, powerful, raw sound, highly acclaimed by guitarists worldwide.

This project was driven by exactly that, the raw and unforgiving presence the Katana amps possess. I've based my design on two principles, the use of only 3 colors and the use of shapes for contrast. Even though this is a flat design with only 3 barely contrasting colors, the use of shapes to contrast the background and foreground perfectly conveys a sense of depth.
