Mr Morale and the Big Steppers

Recently, Kendrick Lamar released his newest album, “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” and I decided I would like to trace the album with the pen tool and make the album cover. I started by tracing out the figures of each person and object on the cover. I liked the look in the other tracings that I have done that purposely leaves out details and makes the picture look less realistic. After tracing each of the objects and people, I found that it was difficult to make a closed object if you start on an intersection of a different closed object. I found that it was making my new object an extension of the old object, which was preventing it from becoming a closed new object. I also wanted to add shadows to the art that I was making, and I found it very difficult to make the shadows bland. I eventually found my best success from the gradient tool using a transparent as one of the colors and turning the opacity down. I also created my other project by using a very simplified version of Kanye West’s “Ye” album. The “Ye album cover is actually one of the most visually appealing album covers that I believe I have ever made.
