Hyperlapse Experiment

This video was developed for my Emerging Production Techniques unit at the University of Canberra. This unit provided a platform for me to develop an in-depth understanding and skills in one area of technological media development (photographic techniques). This included learning and demonstrating the use of new tools, processes, workflows, and principles to produce digital media technologies.

SUMMARY
Nowadays, because of the Internet, our attention is solicited through multiple channels every day. Consequently, an essential commodity is people's attention. Brands, people and campaigns all compete for the attention of an audience. Therefore, it illustrates how important it is to consider the target audience and create content that catches their attention but is also relevant. This proof of concept aims to experiment with making hyper-lapse videos by creating a variety of hyper-lapses using different techniques. These experiments support the importance of capturing people's attention while demonstrating the beauty of life from a perspective they would otherwise never have seen before. The benefit of creating a hyper-lapse video instead of another video or photography technique is that it can engage and connect the viewer in a variety of ways. Overall, the outcome of this project was that I developed new skills and knowledge surrounding emerging video and photography production techniques. Furthermore, by experimenting and through trial and error, I identified what approach was needed to make the highest quality hyper-lapse video.
