This project was for Flagler's Interactive Design class.

For this project there was a need to find a product that connected to the internet of things. From there and app review was completed which fueled the concept for a new product to compete with the old one. When looking for a device for this project the Oura ring was found. The Oura ring is a device that allows users to track their health and is mostly used by people that are looking to track their sleep. Its app is very busy and full of a lot of different information that could be overwhelming to new users. On a different note, the Gesture ring is used for more than just health. It connects to more than just a phone and allows users to connect to many home technologies like Ring Doorbell.

Gesture’s ring can not only track health like the Oura ring, but it connects to devices other than a phone. In the user journey above there are just a few devices that the ring could connect to. When connected to the devices all it takes are gestures to control them. A swipe to the right can turn on the lights, rotating your finger can change the channel on your TV and flicking your finger up can turn up the volume on a Bluetooth speaker. These devices are just the beginning of what the Gesture ring can connect to. This allows for easier control over devices so that you do not have to log onto your phone to control them.
