The Lotus Campfire Stool

The Lotus Campfire Stool
The Lotus Campfire Stool was a project about learning how to use the 3D modeler Fusion 360 to not only create a design but use the manufacture environment to cut out the design on a CNC machine. The main design was supposed to fit within an 11.5" x 11.5" box had had to include 4 spacers and 4 holes that were 1/4" in diameter for threaded rods to fit through and hold 10 profiles together to form the stool. A simple lotus design was chosen as it is my favorite flower and I wanted to represent it in one of my projects.

The initial design was made in Fusion 360 and using the manufacture environment, I was able to pick which parts would be cut out and to set everything to our specific CNC router (Crawl Bot) settings. Using a post processor, a gcode file was made to be sent over to the Crawl Bot to cut out 10 profiles. After cleaning up the pieces to be more presentable, they were primed with a Mod Podge sealant and then painted using spray paint and acrylic paint to make the lotus flower.
