Responsive environment project

About This Project
Kingston University  project -  The Nike Campaign. We have to create a responsive environment projection that is an extension of the Nike ‘Nothing Beats a Londoner’ campaign and delivered onto a site-specific urban wall.

We have to come up with an idea for an interactive projection that would engage with the people walking by. It has to be based on London boroughs and their related sports. I have chosen the following boroughs to research

Responsive environment projection
I would create this Nike project in heart of the Hammersmith. I found a perfect spot for it, the building is just 2 min walk from Hammersmith bridge and it's a Rowing club itself. My projection will be shown on the doors of the Auriol Kensington Rowing club. It will interact with people triggered by a sensor that activates the water splash installation, it's a virtual water splash with sounds that feels quite realistic and would grab people's attention straight away. The second phase of the projection is the interactive text. After grabbing the people's interest with water splashes it will project a text. ‘’Play Pac-man on the Thames because nothing beats a Londoner’’ following with a sign-up QR code where people can take this to the next level by actually getting in a rowing boat and playing a game. For this game, I choose an old classic - Pac-Man. Once they have signed up people can head to the Nike booth near the river to get a short brief on the task and they would be given a boat. The game - It's quite simple actually, you have to play a Pac-Man but this time it's a life scale version on the river. Collect points avoid the ghosts and get out on the other side. If you complete the game successfully you will receive a Nike goody bag with special offers for the winners. For the people who wouldn’t be brave enough to play the game, they would still be attracted to the whole experience. They could still watch the game players and share photos & videos on social media and use the #nikerows hashtag. People could watch the game players from all around either side of the river and from the bridge itself. Overall this projection would grab attention from all around the area as the sound of water splash and the Pac-Man the themed song would raise people's curiosity and they would walk down just to see what was going on.
