Bioplastic Exploration

Bioplastic Exploration
In collaboration with Violette Arnaud

Bio Plastic Exploration is an explorative research around bioplastic using waste, and compost. The objective is to develop a series of multiple bioplastic sheet samples that serve as a bibliography and point of departure for making assembled pieces. This exploration aims to show an alternative to textiles and plastics where products such as wearable items and packaging can be rethought with a better impact. In this project we questioned how we can learn from the plastic crisis and the culture of waste to change our relation to materials and product making to create more meaning and lead to more sustainable scenarios.
We were able to display our work and research during a public mediation at the 4th space, a place located in Concordia University that gives a chance to students to exhibit their research projects. Together with our classmates, we organised the event around a common theme, "2072: Mediated Materiality and Possible Futures".
This public presentation allowed us to bring interactivity for the spectators, as they were able to touch the bioplastics and could see them in context.
