"Dare to be Stupid (Unofficial Music Video)"
"Do you have what it takes to dare to be stupid? To be true to yourself regardless of how ridiculous it might seem? Are we not men? They tell us we lost our tails, who's to say a monkey didn't supply the glue? I can do what a monkey do. I've got a gut feeling..."

This project was edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This project took around 25+ hours to edit and complete. This is one of the first projects I began seriously experimenting with green screens and various coloring effects. The green screen shots were by far the hardest and most complicated to shoot due to my access to limited lighting. I tried my hardest to mask it all the best I could but many artifacts can still be seen, definately something that I will continue to improve on future projects.

This entire video was shot on a Panasonic Lumix GH5. This video was filmed over the span of a couple of weeks and shot out of order most of the time. This video's filming schedule took place during the filming of the final chapter of Surrounded By Heads and Bodies, and as a result, I had to film bits and pieces of it in my spare time. Most of the scenes from the original storyboards and plan I had for the video went off without a hitch but because of a limited space and budget, I had to rework many of my original ideas. I feel like that contributes to the main theme of the video, its supposed to be chaotic and "stupid"; full of silly ideas and that don't necessarily make sense. I tried my hardest to stick to mostly 80's references to match the aesthetic of the song but couldn't letting a couple of things slide (including clips from my childhood YouTube content lol).
A lot had changed from my original ideas but I am really satisfied with how the final product turned out. Stuff like the green screen issues is something that's still driving me crazy but it isn't too much of a loss. The videos' context in Surrounded By Heads and Bodies is that it's supposed to be a "home movie", so the artifacts aren't too far out of line (albiet unintentional, don't tell anybody lol). Overall, I am really glad that I was able to create a visual for one of my favorite 80's songs. DEVO and Weird Al's catalogs have always inspired me to create wacky and "out there" content, I'm glad that I was able to pay tribute to that in some way.

Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to read all about the production of this project. I hope you have an amazing day! :) (04/11/2022)
