Branding and packaging design for the Sheri Skele X Yarn Marketplace collaboration.
THE CLIENT:
Yarn Marketplace, Australia's largest marketplace of Indigenous-designed products. The latest addition to Yarn's Artist Collaboration Series features the stunning artwork of proud Bidjara woman and contemporary Aboriginal artist, Sheri Skele. This collection includes a range of homewares, drinkware & gifting items.
THE OBJECTIVE:
To design a range of packaging worthy of encasing Sheri's products.
THE SOLUTION:
The beauty of Sheri's artwork deserves to be shown-off. I placed her artwork at the fore-front with a wrap-around design. A feminine and summery colour palette was chosen to compliment each of the 5 artworks and to reflect the beaches of Gubbi Gubbi Country that inspire Sheri's work. A sans-serif modulated typeface was used in combination with a low-contrast secondary typeface to keep the design clean, minimal and to not detract attention from the artwork.
