Modern Design Museum.
Representing the modern Egyptian character.
- This project aims to put the spotlight on the Egyptian character in modern art in the recent era; as the first school of arts rose in Egypt at 1908 by the artist Youssef kamel and after that the Egyptian character returned to rise again after a long recession occurred after the ancient Egyptian civilization.
CONCEPT:
- Layout concept came out of the sequence in the history of modern art; as the smooth waves represent the stray Egyptian artistic soul which rose again due to social, economical and political impact, and the main spine represent that crack done by those impacts to create the modern Egyptian identity.
-Main spine is created to clarify your mind and soul before getting into each museum; to give the space for each museum to leave it’s own impact. it’s a clear path with four floors height and no interruptions, just you and the sky.
Building form starts from zero level (the entrance) and flow smoothly in a parametric way to reach the maximum height in the middle of the Nile.
