Marketing Campaign

Marketing Campaign is a school project for the New York Institute of Art and Design. I created an event campaign for the University of Utah's Women's MBA Association. (Not all display banners are shown).

The requirements were as follows:

Technical Requirements:
In your final deliverables, include 1 Facebook ad, 1 Instagram ad, and 4 display banners (sized at 300x250, 300x600, 728x90, and 970x250).
Export files as PNG or JPG
All deliverables must be under 150k in file size, but at the highest possible quality

Design Requirements:
Use one concept as the basis for all of your deliverables
Maintain the established visual hierarchy in each deliverable
Use the correct color mode for each deliverable
Use masking tools to overlap type and image
The type must be readable and legible
Each layout must retain a 10px margin on all sides

Background:
I currently work for the University of Utah's MBA department and there is a big Women's MBA Association event coming up. My boss had an idea to call it "Women, We Celebrate U." This really got my wheels turning and I decided to create the illustrations from scratch on Illustrator and use Photoshop to create the marketing designs.

Process:
I opened up Photoshop and created all the different art-board sizes required. I looked over previous ad campaigns for the University of Utah and gathered information on their coloring, fonts and general style of advertisements. I spoke with the Women's MBA Association on their goals for the event, which was to give out awards and celebrate outstanding women in business. I then drew out thumb nails of each sized campaign ad. I looked on the internet for stock imagery that would enhance my designs, and I couldn't find anything that match the style I was going for. I decided the women and images in these ads would need to be self made illustrations. I then went to work in illustrator creating exactly the illustrations I wanted for a more whimsical design. I combined everything in Photoshop and then reworked them and reworked them. Once I had final designs I felt were quality, I went back to verify they met all the requirements.
