Briefing: We want to achieve the recreation of a fantasy environment from Haiti during the decade of the 50s populated by a zombie creature based upon local culture. This environment and character design was given randomly to generate a sense of reaction and adaptation to any sort of information given in a short period of time.

Solution: Thanks to a process of a prior documentary research, I was able to recreate a character inside an environment that relates coherently to the historical time and its particular characteristics. In the following images we can appreciate a first approach to the creature’s shilouette, a study of lights and composition, and finally, the final image created following photobashing techniques, freehand draw and addition of photo effects such as chromatic aberration and amount of grain, both done in order to give a feeling of old photography from the period of time given.
