Art 230 - Gift Booklet

Project Description: For this project, I was required to create a Gift Booklet. I was to create a booklet from a recent General Conference Talk. The booklet was to focus on typography. I had a specific person I was focused on giving this book to that helped create my design idea and focus. The book is 12 pages including the front and back covers. There are page numbers at the bottom of the page. The speakers picture is on the first page and there is a page for the reader to write notes if she chooses too. 

The talk I chose is "Trust Again" by Elder Gerrit W. Gong. I chose to give my booklet to my daughter. Her favorite color is blue. Blue worked well with this design because blue also invokes feelings of trust and protection. I chose to use Akko Rounded Std for my blockquotes. I used Egyptian Slate for my titles and the text body is Bembo Book Pro. I felt that text worked well to make it easy to read and helped create the mood of the design and theme of the talk. 

I tried to make the book easy to read and follow. I used quotes that stood out to me and highlighted the topic. I really enjoyed creating this project and creating a booklet. I learned alot about which fonts look best together.
