Beriut City Gate
A light wooden structure devoured by greenery extending both horizontally and vertically thus creating an enclosed and introverted ecosystem that I called “cocoon”, filtering visitors into the project while blocking out the negative impact of pollution surrounding them.
After witnessing the terrible deterioration of Beirut’s living conditions, I decided that the citizens and visitors needed some time to heal. Therefore, the proper atmosphere needed to be established. In order to do so, I created a “Cocoon” that aims to provide people with a controlled atmosphere.
The living, interactive ecosystem I have created within my project acts as a natural shield from the outside world, giving people the chance to grow and evolve just like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.
