Industry Practice - 69b Boutique

69b Boutique mission is to help create a brighter tomorrow for both people and the planet.
They opened in 2011 on East London’s Broadway Market by Merryn Leslie, becoming the first London clothes shop to be fully committed to sustainability.

69b Boutique retails both womenswear and menswear apparel, footwear, accessories & homeware. They are known for stocking eco-friendly and ethical products with bold colourful, graphic prints, innovative detailing and at a high quality.
I had many roles at 69B, my main roles were Visual merchandising, Processing, packing and sending online orders, Social media posts and plans and new brand research. Other roles that are less frequent but just as important and enjoyable were attending and assisting in buying appointments, assisting with events and website updating such as new products. I also assist with occasional shop shifts and stock management, ensuring all the items in the store room are easily and readily accessible.
Below are some additional projects I documented during my placement with 69b.
Visual Merchandising
Social media: Here I created a click and collect post to upload onto the 69b Instagram. This was a new service that 69b were offering and they wanted to promote it.
My placement has confirmed to me that my aspirations are to be a buyer for a sustainably conscious brand in the premium/luxury market. I want to have an impact on the world, and improve people’s knowledge and awareness of sustainability. The amazing opportunity to travel the world is a bonus.

I have been told I am talented in visual merchandising and I love reworking floor layouts and seeing them come to life all over again, even when no new stock has been added. With this in mind I will always keep visual merchandising as a potential career in the future.
