These renders are a part of walkability a project based in Nazimabad no. 4, Karachi, Pakistan, where our group of 6 members were tasked with interventions that would be proposed after a thorough study and survey of the area.

Our proposed intervention included the provision of walkability in the streets, which we designed as a purely pedestrian space with the inclusion of vehicular access for emergency situations. 

The Central Park was being neglected and our goal was to revive the park and bring the local community to it.

This render demonstrates a model walkable street that starts from the end of a mosque giving the worshippers a serene route to take while walking for the prayers.

On the left we have a solar shaded parking space with fire hydrants for the walkable street. The bollards are also retractable in case of an emergency. 

The central park is flanked with the residential houses on either end. Both of the residential streets have been converted into walkable streets with parking spaces available on either ends.

Central park has been divided into three segments with one area allocated specifically for the kids. 

The sitting space under the solar powered street lights is to increase communal interaction in the low-income neighborhood.

The streets at the back are accessible through cars for the ease of residents and commuters. 

The D-shaped space is a play area for older kids and adults.

On the left there is a space allocated for local street vendors who will come to the central park and boost sales of local items, boosting the economical situation of the area.
