Where The Ancients Fell Asleep And Became Giants, Pt. I
[March, 2022]
(in the shadows i am)
As I wandered in darkness, my flashlight illuminated only little around me. I wondered what could be out there, hidden in this darkness of enchanted trees, and countless boulders. It felt as if some mystical creatures of the past once fell asleep, and turned to stone, still about to wake up again some unknown day. Tense, I listened, but it was nothing but quiet. Despite the darkness of the large trees, they stood out at the tops from the starry night sky above. For hours, I was all alone here. And I dreamt of all the things I will never see, and never will be. I dreamt as if it to be the last chance to.

The first time I approached this place was about nine years ago. In recent years, I always wanted to visit but whenever I was nearby, the weather wasn’t right. Well, finally I made it. I don't mind the waiting much since I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been capable of capturing such a place the right way years ago.

During my time in the area, I came back a couple of times. I saw this place during dusk with thick fog, rainfalls, sunshine, and heavy winds as well. I'm still sure it is a good indicator to know to be at the right place when no one else is appearing in several hours. Of course, it might be a little bit scary, sometimes.

There will be a second part of this series, focusing on the small roads in the area.
