OLD AGE
The sacred texts tell us that Gotama Buddha regarded old age, along with disease and death, as one of the three major causes of suffering. But it seems to me that his judgment was one-sided. Old age can also be a time of wisdom, greater rapport with the young, and reconciliation with the last great transformation, rivaled only by birth.
