1) My client was unsure of what exactly they wanted, so I showed them 3 different ideas that could be accomplished within the requested time frame.
2) A few layers of sketches were done up until I was satisfied that I had the right shape.
3) I added color to the sketch to give the client an idea of what the final product might look like. At this time, it was decided that the head should tilt more to add to the "cute factor"!
4) I went along my sketch, filling out a line art to give myself a frame of reference. The client liked the line art, and decided they wanted to keep it!
5) Starting with the blocked-in colors from the sketch, I worked in layers until the lighting was right, then rendered in the fur with a soft brush where needed to give the right effect.
