This was the first artist book I have ever made in my entire RISD career. The assignment was extremely open in that we just had to create and design a book that best represented yourself.
I based my artist book on my passion for photography. I chose the format of a “flag” book; the middle section of the book has an accordion where strips of "flags" are usually placed. In replacement of the flags, I decided to use negative film strips because they were the perfect dimension. For the flags, I cut out negatives as well as strips of contact sheets from a photography class that took back in high school. It was the first photography class I had taken where I was exposed to film photography. This artist book is a memorandum of all the fun photoshoots I had back in high school using film photography.
