Sɪᴅᴅʜᴀʀᴛʜᴀ is a novel by Hermann Hesse inspired by a real historical figure: Siddhartha Gautama, i.e. Buddha (6th-5th century AD), a founding monk of the Buddhist culture.
However, the story narrates more generally the events of a young Indian man who lives in search of the best path to approach the deepest reality of himself and his inner happiness.
In order to do so, Siddhartha lives his life with curiosity and hunger for discovery; constantly in need of experiences, he mainly changes between 4 forms of "social status" without ever becoming locked into any of them. From mysticism to sensuality/sexuality, from philosophical meditation to business life he outlines himself as a character in constant evolution.
What I've always loved about this character is precisely his ability to destabilize social "caste" and step outside of any label or definition, simply becoming what he needs when he needs it.  Throughout his life he changes his appearance, job, and thinking, however he is always moved by the same interior power. Each stage of his life teaches him some things and will then carry him to find his way to wisdom: the complete listening to himself and of "consequence" to the truths of others.

I wanted to represent his story with a group of animals that although very different from each other make up a single pyramidal element.
