CNC Milled Coffee Percolator
Aluminum, Wood
This CNC milled percolator embodies the transformation of traditional product designs when reinvestigated. In this case the form, fabrication, and effectiveness of the coffee maker are explored with the aim to create a fully functional design that operates at higher pressure in comparison with traditional stovetop devices.
Thus, at the core of the design are the engineering calculations regarding heat transfer, pressure, etc which govern the internal geometry. The external form is then left to reflect the fabrication process as well as emphasize the evolution of this design from a standard ‘moka’ pot.
