Croatia is one of the first members of the European Union to legally regulate a one-year temporary stay for digital nomads from third countries. The first residence permits were issued at the beginning of 2021, which resulted in an increased interest in Croatia as a destination for digital nomads.
In order to attract this specific group of people to the region, the Tourist Board of Central Istria has launched a cooperation with private landlords and Pazin coworking space management. This creates an extended season, increases the number of arrivals in winter months, and ensures accommodation occupancy while promoting the region on personal channels of digital nomads. The real challenge for us here was to merge the already existing TB logotype with the new, presentational one for this project.
The triangular shape gave us the opportunity to visually allude to the handle and bag shape, which is essential on travels. A laptop bag is one of the main accessories for digital nomads, and a travel bag is necessary for other personal belongings and documents.

Color segments were taken from nature:
Green as the primary color, since a research conducted on digital nomads concluded that they like to spend time in nature and go hiking.
Orange was chosen to emphasize central Istria and its importance, as well as events and many yet undiscovered parts of nature. Red is at the same time the color of the ground in central Istria and beautiful sunsets. This is why we transmuted the red color from the main logo into orange for this particular project.
The chosen typography is clean, simple and direct, and clearly communicates the message. Typography strengthens the sign itself - the logo that comes to the fore as the center of attention.
Further elaboration of the project required us to unite all the municipalities, but also highlight the natural form segment. Combining the municipalities, we got forms similar to the plant world and stone that is specific to Istria.
