Brief: The women museum (kvindemuseet in Danish), is taking on a much bigger role than before. They are changing name to KØN (Gender/Sex in Danish), and thereby becoming The Gender Museum Denmark. Make an identity for them consisting of a new logo, a graphical element, a typographic poster, and at least one more thing.
The base idea of my design, was to focus on voice. Museums has the unique ability to spark debate and tell other people’s stories. Focusing on any gender can either resolve in alienation by representation, or problems if more genders are defined in the future. Gender identities may be unique, but together we speak.
For the graphical element I chose to make a gender icon-pack, since the museum already have some in use in their exhibitions. They are just pretty average looking, and by making them more unique the museum gains the ability to use them in their specific merchandise. Transforming gender icons to The Gender Museum Icons.
