The lack of options for young travelers was the inspiration behind this project. Inspired by the big sports events to be hosted in Brazil, such as the FIFA World Cup and the Rio Olympics, I created a collaborative travel guide of the main cities of the country. The first edition is Rio de Janeiro, one of Brazil's favorites from locals and gringos.
The book is directed to low-budget young travelers. They have access to technology and use smartphones and laptops, but are also addicted to classic analog items, such as film cameras and postcards.
The inspiration for the Abstract is vintage bodega signs, which can be found in any Brazilian city.
The main content is written in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. The visual inspiration of the book is Brazilian vernacular typography, the voice of the streets, with a modern and colorful twist, reaffirming our stereotype as a warm and happy nation.
