STYLE EXPLORATION
I explored 3 different styles initially: 1) Atmospheric; 2) Textural; 3) Vector with Outlines

STYLEFRAMES
The client decided to go with the flat textural style in the final video, and also an alternative color palette as shown below!

PROCESS
I started each illustration with a cleaned up sketch based off the storyboards, then moved on to rough colors.
I then built the base shapes in Adobe Illustrator (as the pen tool was much more intuitive there),

before exporting the layers into Adobe photoshop for texturing and final effects.
In some cases, I created 3D objects in Cinema 4D as a base
(eg. the street scene) to get an accurate perspective for the shot.
