The book is "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy. The book is about Russian society as the people face times of war and times of peace. The book was written to go against the norms of Russian society at the time. Having there be a large divide of the young people and the old traditions of Russia. Tolstoy not only shows this in how he writes his book but also in the characters. Having some of them go against what the old traditions of the time would have been. He also shows the dramatic difference of war verse peace. He does this not only with actual wars but also with inner wars the characters fight with themselves. Wethers it's an inter battle over love or finding peace through God. I hope to portray this simple concept of war vs peace with the covers of the books. As weel to show the complexity of Russin tradition. 

The first cover has the three colors of the Russian flag today but also the background is a complex floral design. The design being very common in old Russa having many complex art and pattern.

The second cover has a photo of flowers which I feel are very peaceful and can also have meaning with love and with faith. Two points in the book that bring a lot of peace and war to the characters.

The last cover has detailed artwork on the sides followed with simple center. Having the title of the book be the main point very large in the middle. Putting the title as the main point is to show that it is the whole point of the book. To show the war and peace that is in all of us.
