3 Players the NY Jets Could Target in 2022 NFL Draft

Outside of his professional endeavors, Scott Shekitka is a fan of New Jersey and New York professional sports teams, including the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL).

The Jets finished the 2021 NFL season with a win-loss record of 4-13 and missed the playoffs for the 11th consecutive season. The team has nine picks, including four of the first 38 selections, in the 2022 NFL Draft in April. Here are three players New York could target with its two first-round picks (number four and number 10) to improve its roster.

1. Kayvon Thibodeaux - The NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah and Josh Edwards of CBS Sports project the Jets will select EDGE rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux with the fourth overall pick in the draft. Thibodeaux is considered one of the best defensive players available in the draft and could provide a boost to the Jets’ woeful defense.

2. Derek Stingley Jr. - A Louisiana State University (LSU) cornerback who missed half of the season due to injury, Stingley Jr. still did enough to prove himself worthy of a top-10 pick in the upcoming draft. He recorded 20 defended passes, six interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 25 games through three seasons at LSU.

3. Drake London - A 6-foot-5, 210-pound wide receiver, London accumulated 1,084 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in only eight games last season as a junior with the University of Southern California. He also led all college receivers in contested catches and is projected to be a perfect fit for Jets quarterback Zach Wilson.
