This chair was constructed using traditional wood working techniques known to bodges. Pole lathing was used to make the legs and stretchers. The seat was made from Elm using an adzes. The back was steam-bent. The joints are made from holes drilled into the wood, with slightly larger dowel endings to the inserted member, holding the wood in place by friction. Where the legs join the seat insertions were added so a wedge could be place into the join and widen the poles ends to guaranty that they will be securely fitted.
