PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project topic discusses the way to tackle COVID-19 and publishing. As being SFU students, we observe that SFU library is experiencing a difficult time over COVID-19. Social distancing and online learning have led to the closure of the campus as well as the library. Before the pandemic, SFU library was a go-to place for all SFU students. It provides a wide range of article and book resources, materials for study and projects, it plays an important role in supporting student’s learning and research. However, COVID has made SFU library limits their offline service that weakens the connection between SFU library itself and students. Consequently, SFU library is unable to provide students full access to book resources whose have no digital version available on SFU library website. That is also our redefined problem of the SFU library that we wanted to focus on in this project.
We came up with the “SFU library delivery service” as our most optimal solution for SFU library. “SFU library delivery service” is the service provided by SFU library for SFU students who want to access SFU offline resources over social distancing time. Students can easily go on SFU library website and pick their books/articles for delivery. The projects deliverables would be the sets of promotion posts in two main social media platforms (Instagram & Facebook) about the new delivery service.
