Aeonic Chroma
Time leaves it's mark everywhere. The past is written on essentially every surface imaginable. Even black holes have recently been theorized to have hairs which record past unlucky somethings that fall into them.
One way history manifests itself today is through deposits of vibrantly colored minerals. Volcanic ash, iron oxide, and other minerals have come to be laid down and then revealed through upheaval or erosion. I like to think of these colorful minerals as a literal form of geological history. The story of cataclysmic seismic events told by lines of red, yellow, green, and even blue.
Since I was a child enamored with dinosaurs, I have been endlessly intrigued by the world before we, as we are, arrived. There was a time before us. These photographs, a selection of colorful strata, depict natural history painted as if with a brush on canvas.
