INDIAN CULTURE - MIXED MEDIA PIECE & BATIK PATTERNS
These slides present my mixed media piece which I designed based on Indian Culture as a whole. I started by creating a background using inks, tissue paper and salt to create texture. I blocked out some areas using acrylic paint or collage materials and used materials such as oil pastel that allow the background to show through. In addition to a mixed media piece, I also created a batik design using Indian patterns. I used wax to protect areas to stay white and then painted on the first ink colour, I then went over the ink with wax before painting on the next ink colour. After painting on all the inks, I scrapped off all the wax.
