In this course, we were introduced to Biomimicry, a practice that learns from and mimics the strategies found in nature to solve human design challenges. As designers, we tend to look towards Nature for inspiration and it is not only important to learn about nature but also to learn from it as the answers to solve our problems are already there.
The assignment is to develop and study an alternative material which can substitute synthetic materials, hence Bacterial Cellulose.This material is sustainable in production and 100% biodegradable which makes it a great alternative material for packaging or in the Fashion industry as it generates a lot of waste.
