Capricorn is the smallest zodiacal constellation. It's a relatively faint constellation, with only its brightest star, Deneb Algedi.
The name Capricornus means horned goat in Latin. The constellation is commonly depicted as a sea goat.
It's located in an area of the sky called the Sea or Water, which includes many water-related constellations such as Aquarius and Pisces.
It is usually associated with Amalthea, the goat who suckled the infant Zeus, or with Pan, the goat god, who was attacked by Typhon, the sea monster. Pan dived into the water, the lower part of his body turned into a fish but the upper part remained a goat.
Fun fact :
At his birth, Jesus Christ would have been a Capricorn (just like me 😁).
