The whole character design is based on the term

creepy-crawly organisms to draw inspiration from.

Inspiration
Spider ; Caterpillar ; star-fish
Body
The body is inspired from a caterpillar, but the animated version of it, it is its more of a expandable shell/casing that legs the legs/limbs stay in and helps with the venom
Limbs
The limbs are inspired from spider legs, and can bloat out and contain venom, they are used for transportation, digestion, and to attack.
