Food Bank - Food & Agriculture Hub
This project was being brief to look into the area of studies with the title of the importance of urban design for your community. The SDG Goal 2 - Zero Hunger is the main topic that is being focused on in this project.

Focusing on the topic of hunger, it addresses a serious issue that is happening worldwide. Hunger is defined as craving or urgent need for food or a specific nutrient. It is also defined as an uneasy sensation occasioned by the lack of food. According to research, more than 820 million people worldwide suffer from hunger, which is the highest number in Asia and rising fastest in Africa. This global hunger issue drives the attention of people thinking that insufficient food is the main cause.

Studies show the food supply in the world is actually enough to supply the world population. Research has shown more than 2 Billion people do not get access to food ; 144 Million children under 5-year-old are stunted ; 47 Million are affected by wasting of food. Therefore, the hunger problem isn’t because of the lack of food but is the problem of accessibility of food and getting the available food for the people in need the most.
As looking at the local context of the hunger issue, the Global Hunger Index has recorded that Malaysia endures a moderate hunger level. As for the GHI scores, it incorporates four different component indicators including undernourishment, child wasting, child stunting, and child mortality.

Although Malaysia has been able to drastically reduce the country's poverty rate, malnutrition is still a major issue happening in the country. On the other hand, poverty and malnutrition in Malaysia have a severe long-term impact on children, especially children below five. Studies have shown that 23% of Malaysian children aged four are stunted ; 22% underweight children and 32% wasting, or even thinner than the average.
