Restaurant Project
My restaurant project is titled Dawn Patrol, which is a food truck in a 1970s Volkswagen Van, with a mission to sell bagels and save the ocean. Above is the logo for my restaurant, which combines both a wave and a bagel.
Next, I created a responsive logo and secondary mark that is seen throughout my restaurant's social media campaign and collateral.
I created a front, back, side and top view of the food truck, as a way to provide a two-dimensional rendering, of what my restaurant would look like in real life.
The food truck view point displays my restaurant's menu, phone number, website and information regarding how my restaurant gives back. 30% of proceeds are donated to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, as an effort to preserve the ocean's ecosystem.
The slogan "deliciously saves the sea" hints towards my restaurant's goal of providing a fueling and delicious breakfast, while encouraging others to be conscious of their waste, that negatively impacts marine life.
I placed my illustrated food trucks in a real life setting, as a way to give the audience a better understanding as to what my restaurant experience would entail in its actual space. Each view point is by the ocean, as my restaurant would be located by the beach if it existed in real life.
Dawn Patrol's social media page portrays varying patterns and the restaurant's message, as a way to compel users to explore what my restaurant is all about.
The t-shirts I created reference the varying designs that are displayed throughout my restaurant and its collateral, but also pay tribute to the Beatles. The "pork roll & egg & cheese & bagel" typographic design, is an ode to the 70s band members names "John & Paul & Ringo & George." My goal was to incorporate 1970s design inspiration, combined with my own contemporary style.
Creating my own take on a 1970s Volkswagen Van food truck, set the foundation for what I created within my collateral. My goal was to provide a variety of type, colors, patterns, and designs that all varied, but represented Dawn Patrol as an entirety.
The different patterns I created pulled inspiration from the 1970s and my restaurant's message of deliciously saving the sea. For example, the "bagel flowers" illustrated on the second pattern from the left, are my way of providing a groovy and eccentric flower, while indicating that the bagels are specific to Dawn Patrol.
