For this board game design, I created a logo, the board, the box, the instructions and custom cards. The game's story revolves around a "turf war" between the western characters: Hobos and Hooligans. The first team to reach the Bank in the center wins the game. Throughout the duration of the game, specialty cards and spaces on the board are meant to slow players down as well as give them advantages over other players.
Firstly, I researched western imagery and formulated the rustic logo design. Secondly, I established the main game flow of the board and then digitally illustrated the board, the box, and each card. Lastly, I edited the instructions and created the instruction manual pamphlet. As this process was digital illustration heavy, I learned more about how to illustrate each piece so that they all correspond to one main theme. I thoroughly enjoyed creating not only the story behind this game, but also creating the content to enhance the thematic elements.
