My work is based on the Dada Art Movement. In Dadaism, artists rejected all rules of art. they rejected aesthetics and the movement was aiming to offend people with iconoclastic art. A number of works produced under this movement were collages. My main artist inspirations were Hannah Höch, Johannes Theodor Baargeld, Marcel Duchamp and Raoul Hausmann.
My work titled “The Gen Z Scream” is a modern depiction of “The Scream” by Edvard Munch. It shows Gen Z’s way of screaming, which is, posing for a selfie during a breakdown to feel better. I used Gen Z’s favorite icon, Zendaya’s selfie for this iconoclastic digital collage.
