ROADSTER DUFFLE BAG
For one of our design electives, we had the option of learning about soft goods products. I had always wanted to make a bag specifically for my car and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do so.
This is a duffle bag aimed towards convertible cars with minimal to no luggage space. The Mazda Mx-5 isn’t known for its storage, so I thought what if I could make it more practical for road trips? The Roadster Bag is designed to give owners the storage benefits of having the roof on, while it’s off on a sunny day.
Having never done any sewing prior to this elective, I learnt a range of new skills and techniques that I can now implement into other projects.
FASTENING
The bag is secured onto a bar on the parcel shelf by a strap that is easily unclipped and used as a carry handle.
MATERIAL
Heavy canvas material makes it suitable for rugged outdoor use.
