Anti-bullying Campaign
Illustration, Typography, Design for Social Good
Poster series designed for an anti-bullying campaign (for Bullying Canada), to shed light on three bullying categories; cyber, verbal, and physical. Its catered to  teenagers and adults alike with the goal is to communicate the forms of bullying through expressive typography.
The goal is to communicate the aftermath of bullying through expressive typography. The art style helps convey the dark side to bullying by bridging illustration and real life in order to speak to the target audience visually (middle and high schoolers ages 13 to 17). All three posters consist of flexible elements that form the phrases like the wire, rope, string and shoelaces. Objects chosen also speak to the younger audience like the yo-yo, shoe, and mouse with the objective is to create an eye catching visuals and to trigger feeling of empathy and act as a wake up call to others. The design of the series was unified with a textured black and white background that creates a contrast with the main illustrative artwork that brings it to focus, which is the purpose of the design. Primarily the sponsor of the poster series is Bullying Canada, therefore a call of action is bold and large in size is the first thing a viewer will see along with a statistic on bullying. This will shed the light on taking certain measures on such issue, giving the audience the information they will need to contact support and make a move as quickly as possible. An interactive element added to the poster design which is a QR code that sends you directly to Bullying Canada’s website that provides ease of accessibility for the audience.
