CHRSITCHURCH: GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
2019
The urban landscape of Christchurch reflects the cultural heritage that is intrinsic in its built environment: How can the past influence the design approach that is expressed in an infill architecture?
This urban infill project is programmed to be a Graduate School of Architecture that establishes a connection to the surrounding context. This builds and fosters community by re-purposing a derelict site and in so doing activates the surrounding neighbourhood. The advantage of using infill sites is that there already has an established neighbourhood system in place, as opposed to starting with a blank canvas.
