This Elk Creek logo (right) was designed for an older audience who are aged 27-80. The offering is red and white wines with a focus on blended wines which are priced around $14-19 a bottle. This logo emulates the brand personality of being “artistic, modern and unique.”

There is uniformity and balance in the logomark through the placement of the “e” and “c” opposite each other on a diagonal. The typeface used for the logotype is called “Aila” and it is a lowercase sans serif font which echoes a sense of elegance and modernity. The connecting letters create an artistic timelessness. Aila is paired with a typeface called “Le Murmure” which is a more angular sans-serif typeface that contrasts well with Aila. The text is placed around the logo in a semi-circle with “Elk Creek” below to give the impression of an arch shape which gives a more minimal overall look to the entire logo and ties everything together to make it look cohesive. This can be seen in the mockup as the arch is embossed and adds dimension to the overall logo.

The use of extended letterforms such as the ascender for the letter “L” , the leg of “R” , the descender for the “K” connecting to the terminal for the “C.” By tying all these elements together, the logotype has a sense of unity . The typeface used is called “Alter Biom” and it is a sans-serif typeface with some serifs on certain letters. This typeface is funky and sleek which fits the personality that the brand wishes to reflect . To compliment the primary typeface, a thin and minimal sans-serif typeface called “Ace Sans” is used to label the type of wine under the logo. The mockup contains the full design with the bottle capacity and alcohol content included below to give a realistic visualization of the product.
