brainstorming after listening to the songs.
i started off with the type design with a different medium in mind. the typography changes were implemented after settling on a traditional medium.
an icon for each of the songs in the album.
i drew the impression i got during and after listening to each song.
i also took note of the imagery in the original type and the imagery in the songs.
custom type for the project.
my goal was to make it feel balanced even when flipped.
i took a lot of inspiration and cues from the original type designs, but leaned towards a more organic-feeling with rounded shapes and curvilinear lines reminiscent of art nouveau.
breaks were also utilized for some of the longer letters to help lighten the weight, but still lend to the feeling of something alive and natural.
