DIGITAL MEDIA DESIGN : DRIP EMAIL
DESIGN BRIEF
The project was to design a drip email for an art academy using a design style. The design style used was Bauhaus.
The objective of the email was to introduce students to the campus. As, this was the first email that goes to the student, orientation content was added.
DESIGN STYLE
BAUHAUS: Bauhaus was a minimalist design style.They only used a few elements and all of them needed to have a function, this fact made that they were focus on studying the shape psychology, color theory, visual hierarchy and basic design principles.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
-Bauhaus style design is rational, simple, and functional.
-Bauhaus design include form follows function and less is more.
-Bauhaus design features simple geometric forms such as circles, squares, and triangles.
-Use of bold but sparing pops of primary colors(red, yellow, and blue)
IDEATION PROCESS
The idea was to combine the aesthetic style of the design and email's content.
First, the mind mapping was done.
A rough layout was created with the content that a new student would want to see in an introduction email. Following that, a mood board was constructed, with content, shapes, colours, and fonts added as needed.

The usage of colors, forms, typography, and minimalism in the drip email design is well demonstrated as in the mood board.

REFLECTIVE ANALYSIS
This project has given me a better understanding of several design styles, with Bauhaus being one of them. I discovered how to combine the design style with email content. This also helped me grasp how basic geometrical figures and typography positioning may have a visual impact in a design. Adobe Photoshop was used to create the design.
