For this assignment, I had to choose a photographer that I admired to make three spreads for Patron magazine. I chose Tom Turner because of his vivid colors and the way he fractures images. There were four collections of his photography that I really liked, and I had a hard time picking one, but finally settled on his Lunar Calendar collection. The second spread shows a large drop cap that includes brightly colored circles to mimic his photography style. The third spread contains the interview section as well as a pull quote. Though it was challenging, I had a lot of fun with this assignment and playing with how the photography would influence the way the drop cap, type treatments, and pull quote would look.
