Berger Paints began in 1760 over two & a half centuries in England in 1760, when a young colour chemist named Lewis Berger, started manufacturing in Europe, ‘Prussian blue’ using a secret process that every designer and householder coveted. He perfected this process &art of the blue colour, which was the colour of most military uniforms of that time. Enriched by the imagination of Lewis Berger, the unending quest for creation and innovation in the world of colour & paints still continues through the brand.

Berger is a strong brand in the Caribbean existing for over 65 years. The brand is manufactured in three main islands of Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad and distributed in various Caribbean territories. Berger has been providing innovative, cutting-edge paint products and services. The Berger Brand remains the largest paint-manufacturing entity in the English- speaking Caribbean.

In 2017, ANSA McAL through its subsidiary Ansa Coatings International Limited acquired
Berger Paints in the Caribbean. ANSA McAL is the largest regional conglomerate comprising of over 70 companies in over 8 territories.

2020 marks a transformative year for the Berger brand and aptly so, as they re-enter the
marketplace with an updated visual identity. Therefore, it is imperative that they produce a
consistent brand identity that will follow a particular guideline to ensure that the quality of their communication is of the highest standard in every territory.
