Postage Stamp Project
For this project, I designed postage stamps that promoted Food Insecurity and Hunger Awareness/Action month. The stamps needed to all work together as one image, but also work separately alone as well. Using the Feeding America website as a source for inspiration, I first I sketched out my ideas. After that I brought the sketches into Illustrator to create vector images and then add color. I decided to start the first stamp with fruit and hearts falling out of a bowl and ladle, and continued them down through the second stamp, landing into a bowl in the third, which also shows a hand under the bowl. And in the last stamp, you see the arm and person that the hand belongs to, who is reaching up for the food. I also incorporated the hunger awareness ribbon into the design. My final stamps laid out in order are shown above, and below are the individual stamps and the original comps that I started with.
