For my A Level Fashion and Textiles I have selected the theme of Punk and the key themes within it including feminism, racism and domestic violence.
These are two initial fashion illustrations of punk fashion which includes my key colour palette of red, purple, blue, black and white.
I created four concept boards that explore the riots within punk as well as the fashion and art style. I also decided to explore original punk illustrations to develop my own ideas and outcomes.
Using Photoshop and Procreate I created four patterns made up of selected colour theme and at the bottom of the project is a digital sample that features key albums and figures throughout the punk subculture.
Mind map: I explored the key features of the punk subculture.
Concept Board:I created a concept board using collaging, painting, pastels, stitching and layering fabrics.
I selected the key concept of feminist and exploring issues within society including racism, domestic violence and rape.
Colour board: I decided on a specific colour scheme of red, blue, purple, black and white. I explored this through samples and digital illustrations.
Shape: During the project I explored the idea of shape and how it was used within punk fashion. I created a white garment out of polyester.
Mock Exam Piece: I created a canvas piece that showcases my key theme of how society ignores the issues within itself.
Repeat prints: I created these using samples inspired by sexual assault within the music industry and the damaging effects they have on their victims.
