Framing the moment
Our submission in the De-lab competition. It was required to design a 4m³ sculpture on our university campus under the theme of "Genius Loci".

01. CONCEPT
The frame imagery is both a literary and visual construct, and can be employed by consciousness to define or concentrate on itself.
It can take various forms from a window frame or a doorway to a picture frame, linking two worlds, in and out, present and past, or even PRESENT and PRESENT !

An empty picture frame is a dynamic frame that's waiting for some actions to happen, someone passing by or some memories to make and celebrate, there are countless possibilities that we could capture with an empty picture frame that creates a memorable and nostalgic experience.
02. FORM GENERATION
We divided the sculpture into 2 parts 2m³ each to solve the location issue (pedestrian axis crossing a seating area making the passerby feels uncomfortable as all seats are directed towards him. The final design creates an enclosure area for the seating and separates the pedestrian axis and the seats area.
